I always wondered why my butt had little to no fat around it and was square shaped compared to round plumped butts that seemed to surround me. When I finally figured out why my butt was shaped so oddly, I was able to change the way it looked completely!

One’s body shape as a whole can vary depending on several factors such as genetics, body weight, and hormonal balance. For this reason, the shape and size of our butts can also come in different forms.

#1: Adrenal aka Inverted V Butt Shape




This type of butt is narrow at the bottom and fuller around the hips giving the appearance of a V shape. Since more fat is gathered around the hips rather than the bottom of your butt, it may seem like your butt is uneven and flat along with an unsightly muffin top. You also may notice that your legs are slim compared to your upper body. 

The reason you accumulate most of your fat in the upper body is because your body is dominated by the adrenal gland. As a result, the adrenal gland releases a high amount of cortisol, which is the main cause of excess belly fat and a slimmer lower body. The good news is that this body shape can be easily fixed by eating a diet that helps burn belly fat, daily cardio exercise, and targeted butt workouts with weights added.


If you have a V-Shaped Bum here are a few workouts that can reshape and make your butt bigger! For the best results, perform the following exercises 4 to 5 days a week:

Butt Bridge:

This workout targets all parts of the butt muscles giving you an all-around booty makeover!

  • Lay on back with legs bent and feet planted on the floor.
  • Slowly raise your hips off of the floor. Make sure to keep your shoulders and knees straight.
  • Hold your position for about 20 to 30 second and then slowly lower your hips back down to starting position.
  • Do 5 to 10 sets of 20 or 30 reps Rest for only 10 seconds between each set.


Squatting:

Any form of squats is perfect for building the lower part of your butt!
  • Stand with feet shoulder width apart. Make sure the heels of your feet are completely touching the ground.
  • Keep your arms straight out or to the side.
  • Bend down until your knees and hips are parallel to each other
  • Push back up through your heels, and resume starting position.
  • Do 5 to 10 sets of 25 or 25 reps.


Russian Twists:

This workout, if performed correctly, will help get rid of the stubborn muffin top!

#2: Thyroid aka Square Shaped Butt




The square shaped butt (my natural butt shape) has an all-around flat look and feel to it. If this is your butt shape, your waist to hip ratio should be nearly equal in size. Butts that are square-shaped is dominated by the thyroid hormone which causes fat to mainly store in the waist, arms, and upper hips with hardly any fat around the butt.


Another hormone that could be ruled by the thyroid body shape is high testosterone levels, which causes very little fat to be stored in the lower body. 

Most women that produce an excess amount of testosterone are clinically diagnosed with PCOS which blocks the production of estrogen. If this body type belongs to you, don’t be distraught as there are several ways you can balance your hormones safely and naturally. First hand, I know that this butt shape can be hard to alter, but I’m here to say it can be done!

4. Regulate your hormones


Hormones play a big role in how the human body shape is formed. For example, if your body is dominantly run by the ovaries you will tend to store fat in your butt thighs and legs. In contrast, those who produce more testosterone will store less fat in the lower body causing the butt to look small, flat, or odd in shape. For those that are seeking to make their butts bigger, this can be a little discouraging, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. If you want to transform your body and get a bigger butt, you can do so by balancing out your hormones so your body can produce more estrogen (the hormone that causes a woman's body to store fat in the butt and thighs).
